This position reports to the Senior Executive Director, who reports to the Senior Pastor.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Management <ul> <li>Participate in the management of accounting and finance personnel</li><li>Develop and plan department objectives, with the Executive Pastor and staff, including short and long-term accounting projects to improve budgeting and accounting processes and systems</li><li>Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives</li><li>Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures</li><li>Assist and direct the selection and training of departmental personnel, performance reviews, merit increase recommendations, promotions, and disciplinary actions</li><li>Lead and/or attend a variety of meetings with management and department staff to review and discuss accounting and financial matters and systems</li><li>Work with the staff on the ground to oversee the accounting operations of the ground, especially the control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures, to assure consistency throughout the organization.</li></ul> Reporting and ControlDirect and perform financial accounting functions to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information including all standard financial statements. <ul> <li>Assume overall responsibility for the accuracy of financial reporting as well as payroll, accounts payable and receivable, cash accounting, program and grant accounting, and fixed assets accounting</li><li>Coordinate the preparation for and the completion of the annual audit, including receiving, all necessary financial information from all entities.</li><li>Develop and monitor processes and procedures to ensure internal financial controls are in place to safeguard the organization’s assets</li><li>Develop and report financial and operating metrics to assess effectiveness of operations</li><li>Perform accounting and tax research when necessary</li><li>Participate in the annual budget process working with the Executive Director and staff, assisting as needed at various stages of the process</li><li>Provide financial analyses as needed for reporting and planning purposes</li><li>Assure integrity of the accounting software systems is maintained</li></ul> Compliance <ul> <li>Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies</li><li>Coordinate and participate in the completion and filing of the IRS Form 990s for various entities, working with the outside accounting firm</li><li>Oversee compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.</li></ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2>REQUIREMENTSThe ideal candidate will have: <ul> <li>A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, finance or a related field</li><li>A master’s degree (MBA, MPA or related field) preferred</li><li>CPA preferred</li><li>Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting.</li><li>At least five years of church management experience or faith-based non-profit management experience in an organization with multiple operating entities</li><li>Demonstrated experience in coordinating numerous groups toward common objectives</li><li>Be self-directed and able to identify priorities in the context of both formal and informal objectives</li><li>Be able to work independently and collaboratively within a team</li><li>Be able to both take and share authority as well as the ability to both lead and follow.</li></ul> <h2>Additional Information</h2>COMPENSATIONCompetitive range of $75-85,000 (based on experience) with benefits, further disclosed to interviewed applicants.By clicking the link above or any third-party link within this posting, you are leaving this site and going to a third-party website where the third-party website's terms and privacy policy apply <h2>Job Location</h2>Google Maps requires functional cookies to be enabled<a href="https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/oneclick-ui/company/CapinCrouseLLP/publication/5ff3a021-3f60-40c6-8970-1ac13c35d2c2?dcrci=CapinCrouseLLP&amp;sid=c2cc8851-dfcc-467d-8da5-3051a6896ef6" rel="noopener noreferrer">I'm interested</a> <a href="https://www.smartr.me/oneclick-ui/company/CapinCrouseLLP/publication/5ff3a021-3f60-40c6-8970-1ac13c35d2c2?dcrci=CapinCrouseLLP&amp;sid=c2cc8851-dfcc-467d-8da5-3051a6896ef6&amp;utm_source=job-ad-smartr-apply" rel="noopener noreferrer">I'm interested</a>Controller (Presbyterian Church) <ul> <li>1835 Young St, Dallas, TX 75201, USA</li><li>Full-time</li></ul>
